Solubag is a specially produced and modified polyvinyl alcohol. PVA is a polymer known about since the first half of the last century. In practice, it is used, for example, as packaging for medicinal capsules or coating for dishwasher tablets.

PVA is usually made from petroleum, but in the case of Solubag, natural materials are used. This is a patented technology that uses natural materials, NOT petroleum like other kinds of PVA. This creates an environmentally safe material with a low carbon footprint. Solubag is biodegradable and soluble in water.

The original technology for biodegradable PVA products comes from Chile. Its long and indented coastline is plagued by piles of washed-up garbage, and therefore it is not surprising that it was there that the idea of restarting the industrial use of PVA products, to make them biodegradable in nature, was born.
